Potter Creek Water Quality Project

Potter Creek is a headwater tributary of Breakneck Creek and the Cuyahoga River.
The goal of the Potter Creek Project is to reestablish normal stream function
and preserve its ability to provide drainage for surrounding agricultural operations.

The Northeast Ohio Four County Regional Planning and Development Organization (NEFCO),
City of Ravenna, and the Portage SWCD are the major partners.

The project is financed through a grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency
and the United States Environmental Protection Agency, under the provisions of
Section 319(h) of the Clean Water Act.

For more information, please take a look at the
Potter Creek Project Brochure.

Below are pictures of the project.
As of 10/15/07, the site has been selected and the restoration practices are being evaluated and designed by ODNR staff.
NEFCO and the City of Ravenna are collecting water quality data to gauge the effectiveness of the restoration.
