Lake & River Friendly Establishments
This program embodies our effort to reduce plastic waste in the Great Lakes and Ohio’s rivers! Our goal is to encourage environmental responsibility by promoting local businesses that commit to sustainable practices.
To be a Lake & River Friendly Establishment, participants must follow the criteria below:
And at least 2 more of their choice:
Provide friendly service for customers with a reusable cup or container
Use recycled or eco-friendly products
Reusable silverware is provided for dine-in customers
No plastic coffee stirrers
Establishments must:
Use no styrofoam
Participate in proper recycling
Provide plastic straws only upon request
