Board of Supervisors Annual Election
& Banquet Dinner

GUEST SPEAKER: DAVE BRANDT, OHIO NO-TILL FARMER

The Portage SWCD strives to conserve and protect our natural resources through working with landowners to implement conservation and best management strategies across the county. We couldn’t accomplish any of these goals without our Board of Supervisors.  The board is made up of respected members of the community who share in these goals. Once elected, board members serve 3 year terms in which they selflessly volunteer their time to help direct the efforts of the SWCD staff and cooperators. The annual election will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 6pm. Join us to cast your vote for the Board of Supervisors position.

Following the election will be an exciting evening that includes dinner catered by Guido’s of Ravenna, a conservation awards ceremony, and a special presentation by guest speaker Dave Brandt. Dave farms 1,150 acres in central Ohio's Fairfield County. He began no-till farming in 1971 and has been using cover crops since 1978. David has participated in yield plots for corn, soybeans and wheat into various covers and has also been planting various blends of cover crops to find out what benefits they provide to improve soil health.
